Castrol India Q1 net profit up 1.76% at Rs 185.00 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 185.00 crore for the quarter ended March 31 2019 as compared to Rs 181.80 crore in the same period last year registering a year-on-year growth of 1.76 per cent.

Net revenue of the company rose by 5.30 per cent at Rs 976.20 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 927.10 crore in the corresponding period last year.

During January-March quarter operating expenses increased by 6.19 per cent to Rs 693.20 crore from Rs 652.80 crore in year ago period.

Other Income dipped by 7.46 per cent at Rs 21.10 crore versus (Mar`18 Rs 22.80 crore).

Operating Profit surged by 3.17 per cent to Rs 283.00 crore as against Rs 274.30 crore in the year ago period while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 2.03 per cent in March quarter.

Interest declined by 57.14 per cent y-o-y to Rs 0.30 crore while Taxation increased by 2.29 per cent at Rs 102.60 crore (Mar`18 Rs 100.30 crore).
