DCB Bank Q4 net profit jumps 50.02% at Rs 96.33 cr

The bank reported standalone net profit of Rs 96.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31 2019 as compared to Rs 64.21 crore in the same period last year registering a year-on-year growth of 50.02 per cent.

Interest income of the bank rose by 27.40 per cent at Rs 827.10 crore for the quarter ended March 31 2019 as against Rs 649.19 crore in the corresponding period last year.

During the January-March quarter total income rose substantially by 26.21 per cent to Rs 926.46 crore from Rs 734.05 crore in the year ago period.

Meanwhile operating expenses increased by 25.10 per cent to Rs 741.18 crore from Rs 592.47 crore in the same period last year.

Operating profit surged 30.87 per cent to Rs 185.28 crore from Rs. 141.58 crore.

Provisions and Contingencies slipped by 10.38 per cent at Rs 34.78 crore from Rs 38.81 crore a year ago.

NII the difference between interest earned on loans and interest paid on deposits increased by 14.10 per cent at Rs 300.87 crore versus Rs 263.70 crore in the year ago period. Non-interest income rose 17.09 per cent year-on-year to Rs 99.36 crore.

On the asset side gross non- performing assets (NPAs) rose to 1.84 per cent of the gross advances as at the end of March 31 2019 from a level of 1.79 per cent year earlier. Its net NPAs or bad loans too declined to 0.65 per cent of net advances on March 31 2019 from 0.72 per cent a year ago.
