  • Indian rupee started the session on a weaker note following the overnight bounce witnessed in dollar index. However, rupee gained ground later on and ended the session on a flat note.
  • The US dollar witnessed selling pressure near its two-month high, after having a strong pullback last week as a string of mostly upbeat data convinced markets that the Federal Reserve will continue its gradual withdrawal of stimulus.
  • China's GDP (YoY) figures for the fourth quarter came better than expected at 7.7 percent versus 7.6 percent expected and 7.8 percent previous, with the quarter by quarter reading at 1.8 percent against the 2.0 percent expected and 2.2 last.
