GMDC will set up a 50 MW wind power project in a bid to harness green energy potential. The fresh addition will take the total capacity of wind power installation by GMDC in the state to 200 MW.
NTPC and Gujarat government run Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd inked a memorandum of understanding to swap one million tonne of coal. The arrangement is likely to help both the companies save Rs 378 crore per one million tonne.
Reserve Bank of India kept the repo rate unchanged at 8%. The central bank also kept CRR, SLR unchanged. The reverse repo rate was also maintained at status quo of 7%. The RBI said the country's GDP growth, which is estimated to be 5.5 per cent in the current fiscal, will improve to 6.3 per cent in 2015-16.
Indian shares edged higher in a volatile trading session as blue-chips rose on hopes of better quarterly numbers, while the central bank's decision to keep interest rate unchanged had little impact. CNX Nifty failed to hold the psychological 8,000 level. It had moved past the psychological 8,000 level in afternoon trade. Declining shares outnumbered gainers on BSE. The BSE Mid-Cap index rose 13.57 points or 0.14% to settle at 9,530.35. The BSE Small-Cap index rose 13.79 points or 0.13% to settle at 10,681.46.
