    Market Roundup

The markets closed on a positive note after an insistent losing streak. A bout of volatility was witnessed during the last hours of trade as the key indices trimmed gains after striking fresh intraday highs. Stocks from the Pharma basket rose on renewed buying, PSU banking stocks were also in demand. The next major trigger for the stock market is Q3 December 2013 corporate earnings. The Q3 earnings season begins later this week when IT major Infosys and private sector bank IndusInd Bank unveil their earnings on Friday, 10 January 2014.
