    Market Roundup

Domestic markets closed on a weak note due to continuous selling pressure and subdued buying activity. Interest rate sensitive banking and realty stocks extended Friday’s losses after Reserve Bank of India’s surprise decision. Stocks from the IT and Consumer durables basket have closed the session on a positive note. Midcap and smallcap were also down by 1.4% and 0.5% respectively. Bond prices also declined as the government is likely to unveil its market borrowing programme via dated securities for the period from October 2013 to March 2014 on 23 September 2013.
