The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) kept its crude oil supply policy unchanged and agreed a production ceiling at 31.5 million barrels per day. OPEC has agreed to roll over its policy of maintaining crude production in order to retain market share and raise its output ceiling. The U.S. Department of Labor said the unemployment rate remained unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 5.0%, from 5.0% in the preceding month. U.S. employers added a greater-than-expected 211,000 jobs in November, the Labor Department said. November’s gain follows the best job-creation month of the year in October, whose number was revised upward, from 271,000 to 298,000.
