As per the regulatory guidelines, it is mandatory for a customer to have its Aadhaar and PAN linked to each other in-order to be able to participate in the stock market.

To open a Trading Account, keep the following documents handy:

  • Proof of Identity: PAN card/Aadhaar Card/Passport/Voter ID/Driver's License.
  • Proof of Address: Aadhaar Card/Passport/Voter ID/Driver's License.
  • Bank Proof: Cancelled cheque/Copy of Bank passbook/Copy of Bank statement.
  • Income Proof: Copy of ITR/Account Statement for the last 3 months/Salary slips/Copy of Bank statement for the last 3 months.

Note: Having a DigiLocker account helps to fetch Proof of Identity and Proof of Address simultaneously and avoid uploading documents manually.

You may refer the following points to navigate through the Online KYC process to open a Trading Account:

  • Authenticate your Mobile Number and Email ID with a one-time verification code.
  • Enter your Aadhaar linked PAN No. and your DoB to proceed further.
  • Fetch your Proof of Identity and Proof of Address copies from DigiLocker or continue with KRA/Manual upload.
  • Share IFSC Code and Account No. of your active Bank Account for it to be linked with the Trading Account.
  • Select the segments that you wish to trade in.
  • Provide your choice of nomination i.e. either declare a nominee or opt-out (even if you opt-out of nomination during account opening; you may declare nominee any time post account opening also).
  • Enter the details of your valid Demat Account i.e. Beneficiary ID and CML Copy (if applicable).
  • Capture a Selfie and upload required documents to proceed further e.g. Specimen Signature, Cancelled Cheque, Income Proof, etc.
  • Please read through the terms and conditions before proceeding.
  • Complete the e-Signing of your Online KYC form to submit your Trading Account Opening request.
