The Aadhaar Card, also known as the Unique Identity Card, is a government-issued identification document that serves multiple purposes for Indian citizens. Its primary objective is to establish a unique identity for each individual and ensure efficient delivery of various government services and subsidies.

What is an Aadhar Card?

The Aadhaar Card contains essential biometric and demographic information, such as the individual's name, photograph, gender, date of birth, address, and a unique 12-digit Aadhaar number.

One of the significant features of the Aadhaar Card is its ability to authenticate an individual's identity through biometric data, including fingerprints and iris scans, minimising the chances of fraud and duplicate identities.

Moreover, it is widely accepted as a valid proof of identity and residence for opening bank accounts, obtaining mobile connections, and availing of government welfare schemes. The significance of the Aadhaar Card lies in its potential to streamline administrative processes, eliminate duplication, and ensure efficient service delivery to Indian citizens.
